Special Issue on Data Literacy
The Internet Policy Review has published a new special issue on “Digital inclusion and data literacy” (Volume 9, Issue 2). The issue by guest editors Elinor Carmi and Simeon J. Yates, both from the Department of Communication and Media, University of Liverpool, UK, examines different layers of digital inclusion and data literacy, drawing on research, policy, and practice developments around literacies in various regions and contexts. It makes suggestions as to what policies are needed to include more people in datafied societies, and what types of literacies they should learn.
The special issue includes three commentaries by experts in the field and five peer-reviewed academic papers that address ways to tackle data literacy and digital inclusion.
